How to Know If your PC is Hacked?

What would happen if a PC is hacked and what one can do about it?

After doing a lot of research, I came to this conclusion that hackers gonna hack just like haters gonna hate.

It doesn’t matter if you have the best antivirus of the world you are likely to get hacked. Though it will protect you from most of the viruses and worms out there. But no antivirus is hacker proof.

This post doesn’t means that antivirus doesn’t works these days but it means that hackers are getting smarter day by day and hence are getting new ways to exploit a PC and its information.

So an antivirus can protect you, that is sure. But if you want to stay 110 percent protected then you have to take some precautions.

How to Know If your PC is Hacked?

Here I present some precautions and some other related things.

1. Do think before you INSTALL.

Most of softwares these days, install other softwares with it. And most of the people without taking much attention just click next, next and finish.

The biggest problem that gets after all this that there are many softwares out there that will not get uninstalled after getting installed with the major one.

These are the ones that tends to get your PC hacked. So, next time do think before you install.

And if you have installed some software and if it is not getting uninstalled then I recommend to download a special program for this purpose i.e., a uninstaller.

2. Mysterious Toolbar

Though it would sound silly but many persons out there don’t even care after a toolbar or two gets into their browser.

Yeah, they would think that how it got there but after that they would say does it even matter.

Well, that’s where they get completely wrong.

They don’t think that this is the modern era and hackers have a lot of ways to hack a PC. No one knows how many but the best hackers there.

So, you have got to remove the unknown toolbars now if you are having them.

3. Slow PC

Most of the time a slow PC doesn’t mean that your PC is hacked but if your pc is having other symptoms with this one. Then I gotta say it has got hacked.

If you have got a slow PC then I would say is to speed it up with these tips. Whether it is hacked or not the tips will surely make your PC speed up again.

4. Unknown Ads

Although it is same like the first, a software gets installed in your PC.

But it is different in the way that because of these type of softwares you see ads in your PC’s browser.

Yeah, Google shows ads but these are different from that. Hackers installs these softwares to earn money every time you click on ad and that website gets a hit.

So, uninstall if you are seeing unknown ads on every page that you go.

5. Task Manager is disabled by the administrator

We often open task manager to close different task and process. But have you ever got the above error while opening task manager.

If no then it’s good your PC hasn’t been exploited already but if yes then read next section for the best way to get things in places again.

What to do when your PC is hacked?

The best thing for this purpose would be to install your OS again or to install different OS.

And if you don’t want to do it then a system restore must also do the trick.

The reason why I put installing windows at first then the restore is that many people do not have system restore points. So, it won’t work for them.

And if you want the second one to work in future (it can be used for many other purposes) then I would advice you to create a restore point.

You can easily create a restore point, just search for system restore, open it and follow the on screen instructions.

You don’t need to be a genius to protect your PC but you gotta be attentive and protective. And if you see any suspicious activity going on your computer then I would say to restore it before anything worse would happen.
