Harnessing an Agile Workplace

Empowering your employees to work in the best way they can, should be one of the main priorities when managing a business of any size. There is one primary concept that can help you with this. Enter – Agile workplaces.

Below we have done the hard work for you so you don’t need to. Find out how this concept can be highly beneficial to your employees as well as your business.

9 to 5 – What’s That?

The 21st century has taken a turn for the better, with a lot going on in the economy and the global environments, businesses have been forced to make changes that have seen them transforming the way they operate, including the way their employees work.

What was once an in office 9 to 5 job has now been drastically turned on its head. The mundane day to day monotony of workers going into the offices, and sitting behind their desks, is slowly fizzling out, and instead, newer and more profitable solutions are taking over. Google trending websites have hot topics and all the latest information on the idea too.

A well-known concept called ‘Agile workplace’ is what we’re talking about. So, how is this different from the traditional practices that have been around for decades? We give you some insight below.

An Agile Workplace

If you have never heard of this concept before, or have heard of it but not sure what it entails. In its simplest terms, the agile environment enables your employees to embrace a newer way of doing things. It is a ‘space’ that is designed for flexibility and allows workers to work how they want when they want and from wherever they feel most comfortable.

They are not limited to the 9 to 5 job and are free to work from anywhere they want including home. If they do choose to go to the office, they are confined to one desk, rather, they can sit anywhere within the confines of the office space and work.

They can choose between the break room or in the lounge, meeting room or even in the open air as long as they are working on a project or a task. Any soft seating or quiet space is permitted as well as a standing workstation is available in the building.

According to online statistics regarding this matter, over 90% of businesses that have adopted this way of operating have done way better than when they had a traditional methodology.

Advantages of an Agile Environment

As bizarre as this concept may sound, it has been seen to make a positive impact on several things within the business:

  • Staff retention levels have decreased
  • Productivity in the workplace has increased
  • Collaboration between staff members and seniors has increased
  • Levels of creativity have increased
  • More work gets done in less time
  • A decrease in stress levels amongst everyone

And more.

Optimizing the space that you have within your environment is one of the best things to do for any industry. Workers feel more at peace and a sense of freedom in this type of space, as opposed to being micromanaged, which can be disastrous for some employees who are not comfortable with it.

Your employees and workers are some of the most important aspects of any business and keep the operation running. Trying this new approach will only make them happier, which has a direct result on production levels, which will increase your sales – in the end, it is a win-win for all!
